Steal A Tree Rarity Guide: Tiers and Documented Tree Rarities

Steal A Tree uses Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarity tiers. See the documented tier names, tree rarities with verified labels, and how rarity fits the collection loop.

Steal A Tree uses four named rarity tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. The labels appear on in-game items — trails in the Trail Shop show Common, Rare, and Epic, and Legendary appears as a tree rarity. The verified details below explain those tier names, the documented tree rarities, and how rarity works in the collection loop. Pet rarities and fruit rarity odds remain unlisted because verified labels for them are not currently documented.

Verified rarity tiers

The tier names come straight from UI labels on trails in the Trail Shop:

TrailRarityEffectCost
Grey TrailCommon1.5x Speed1K cash
Green TrailRare2x Speed25K cash
Purple TrailEpic2.5x Speed100K cash

Legendary is not sold as a trail in this table but appears as a tree rarity tier, so the label set spans at least these four bands. Note that these speed multipliers are trail effects — they are not evidence of a general rule that higher rarity always means more cash or better performance elsewhere.

Tree rarity

Rarity applies to the trees you plant. You don't choose what a sapling becomes — it grows into whatever tree it was going to be, and rarity is revealed on the way up. Saplings come in named varieties (Plains Sapling and Flowerfield Sapling both turn up as quest and playtime rewards), and the resulting trees span every rarity band. Documented tree rarities:

This is a partial sample of tree rarities rather than a full tree catalogue, so recheck assignments after collection updates.

Rarity context in the collection loop

Rarity is one layer on top of the game's core loop: players sneak trees away from gnomes, plant them at their own base, then wait for rare fruit to grow, juice that fruit for money, and spend cash on upgrades. Pets and mutations sit on top of all that, so filling the Index takes real time. Faster movement from training helps reach better trees sooner — free Steps from codes mean extra speed, which lets you reach a gnome tree, lift it, and get home before a patrolling gnome catches you, and can help rare fruit show up sooner.

What rarity does not prove

Rarity labels tell you how an item is banded, but no documented rule ties higher rarity to higher juice value or income in general — the only verified rarity-linked effect is trail speed. Pet rarity assignments and fruit rarity labels or odds are also not documented. Treat these details as a bounded reference for the four named tiers, trail rarities, and the tree rarities listed above, and verify anything beyond that in-game after updates.
