Steal A Tree Treadmill Upgrades: Tiers, Costs, and How Training Works
Compare the three Steal A Tree treadmill tiers — Wooden, Iron, and Golden — with current cash costs, how treadmill training raises your speed stat, and free ways to speed up the grind.
Running on the treadmill on your plot raises your speed stat passively — you stand on it and let the stat climb while your trees keep producing juice in the background, making it worth doing between steal runs rather than instead of them. Speed matters because gnomes only chase you while you are carrying a stolen sapling, so a higher speed stat lets you outrun a patrol instead of getting tackled.
Confirmed treadmill tiers
There are three confirmed treadmill tiers:
| Treadmill | Cost |
|---|---|
| Wooden Treadmill | Starting tier |
| Iron Treadmill | 50,000 cash |
| Golden Treadmill | 500,000 cash |
Training efficiency and quest progress
Each tier trains you more efficiently than the last — the game's own listing confirms the mechanic with "Train on the treadmill to gain speed." However, the actual training rate or speed gain per tier has not been published, and those numbers need to be measured in game before any per-tier efficiency comparison can be made. Upgrades do feed quest progress, though: the Upgrade Master 1 and 2 quest chain rewards purchasing plot and treadmill upgrades, so buying tiers pays out beyond the stat itself.
Free ways to gain speed
Before you can afford the Iron (50,000 cash) or Golden (500,000 cash) thresholds, free rewards accelerate the grind. The code "Welcome" grants 1,000 Steps (reported September 2026) — redeem it through the Shop menu's code box at the bottom. Extra Steps mean extra speed, and other free income sources — daily rewards, playtime rewards, and quests — also pay out cash and speed as you stay in the server. Note that treadmill training is separate from the Trail Shop's purchasable multipliers, which stack as their own speed source.
